ATS-16 Tour Guide System

Suitable as a tourguide system and for any other application in which an audio source or speech is to be distributed in high quality to one or more receivers. Fixed installation providing assistive listening for hearing aid users, language interpretation in places of worship, classroom & lecture hall wireless sound distribution to students. Portable devices for walking tours.

The system allows simultaneous operation of up to 8 different frequencies (depending on distance of transmitter, stationary RF sources of interference and other local conditions).  Licence-free in the UK & EU.

FEATURES

The ATS-16T is a versatile pocket transmitter for all walking tours. 

  • Integrated microphone - just talk into the top of the transmitter [5]
  • Supplied with additional electret tie-clip microphone - ideal inside for galleries, museums, lectures
  • Optional head-worn & neck-band microphones
  • Separate audio line input via 3.5 mm mono jack [10] for playback from a MP3 player etc
  • LED [2] shows battery status 
  • Microphone volume level control [4] allows adjustment to match microphone type and voice.
  • 16 selectable channels allows up to four simultaneous groups in proximity 
  • Power supply is via the included 2 x 1.2 V NiMH rechargeable batteries. Alternatively, use 2 x AA-size alkaline. There is also a low-voltage power socket [11] for a 5V external power supply (optional).

Small, hand-held tour guide microphone with integrated transmitter for use by the guide or presenter, for transmitting to ATS-16R pocket receiver.

• High-quality electret microphone cartridge, cardioid characteristic for close-talking.
• Pilot tone transmission to avoid unwanted interference.
• Mute function: illuminated push button on the barrel of the mic makes it easy to mute the microphone with your thumb. Can be programmed as push-on/push-off, or push-and-hold talk function.
• Illuminated LCD for indicating channel and battery status
• Power supply via 2 x 1.2 V NiMH rechargeable battery or alkaline AA size (not supplied)

FEATURES

The ATS-16R is a versatile pocket receiver for all walking tours. 

  • Includes a clip-on earphone with rubber ear hook via 3.5mm headphone jack. Other headphones available as options.
  • Compatible with Telecoil on a hearing aid using the optional neck loop NL-90Hearing loop compatible
  • Separate line audio output via 3.5 mm stereo jack [10] for recorder/camera/amplifier.
  • Built-in speaker [5] for coupling of acoustic tube to earpiece (optional accessory).
  • LEDs for battery status [2] and indication of transmission signal present [1].
  • Robust case design with strong belt clip (optional lanyard); the protruding, rotary on/off volume control is ideal for the visually impaired; thumb-wheel channel selector avoids accidental channel change.
  • Power supply via the included 2 x 1.2 V NiMH rechargeable batteries. Alternatively, use 2 x AA-size alkaline. There is a low-voltage power socket [11] for an external 5V power supply (optional) for use in a semi-permanent location.

ATS-16 Charging Devices

The ATS-16 pocket transmitters & receivers are supplied with NiMH rechargeable batteries. There is a two-bay desktop charger and also a 36-bay charger-case. Intelligent PWM quick-charge for simultaneously charging rechargeable batteries within ATS-16R/T. Average charging time, depending on capacity and condition of the rechargeable batteries used, is approx. 3-4 hours, (e.g. 1,300 mAh batteries).

 

Optional Microphones & Headphones

We have a wide selection of microphones available for the ATS-16T transmitter. The ATS-16R may be used with any standard headphone or earpiece using a 3.5mm jack plug - we have a wide range available. The ATS-16R tour guide receiver is also compatible with the optional neck loop NL-90 for listeners using a hearing aid with the 'T'-position (Telecoil).

ATS-800ST Stationary Transmitter is used for broadcasting from a fixed position to pocket tour guide receivers ATS-16R. Ideal for simultaneous translation, audio description, multimedia playback, drive-in church services, assistive listening for hearing aid users. Simultaneous operation of up to 8 transmitters with different frequencies (depending on local conditions). Licence-free in the EU & UK (863-865MHz). One microphone input and one line audio input may be mixed to the output.
